Verde Mountain - State House Elm Earrings
Dutch Elm disease hit Vermont just as it did most of the country. Landscapes once filled with these large, floweer vase shaped marks changed forever. Although there are still elms around the once foliated front border has opened up to reveal our beautiful capital building. The Vermont State house had several such trees and when the last elm was removed from the Vermont State House lawn, one of my wood squirrel friends salvaged enough for making his wooden pens. A generous sold decided to share a small piece with me which I am now making these earrings from.
These are a dangle style with stainless steel wires that are 100% nickle free.
