Verde Mountain - Box Elder Wide Earrings
The wood I used to make this piece came from a Boxelder that sometimes identified by a red stain in the wood. The presence of the stain does not seem to harm the structure of the wood. The color of the stain can range from light pink to dark red. When exposed to the light, the color of the stain fades over time. The stain I thought to be caused by the fungus Fusarium recent but some feel the staining may be related to nonspecific causes, like wounding caused by environmental factors, inset injury, or sapsucker injury.
These are a dangle style with stainless steel wires that are 100% nickle free.
