Hunting, fishing, gardening, and cooking was everyday life and each of my uncles, aunts, and family friends had something they could cook better than anybody else. They were heroes to us kids, their recipes were generations old like folk stories and I have been retelling those stories on more plates than I can remember – from my first catering business as a young teen, out of every kitchen I cooked, and in every bottle.
